Steven Gerrard is still working as hard as ever to maintain his high standards while in the MLS, according to photographer Tony Taafe.
The LA galaxy midfielder stayed behind after training recently for LA Galaxy to practice his shooting after coming second in a team tournament, losing out to team-mate Mike Magee in the last round.
The former England and Liverpool star allegedly called over the goalkeeper following the session and stayed behind for 15 minutes to practice his shooting whilst his team-mates had already left for the showers.
Gerrard, who had a glistening career with Liverpool – one in which he won almost every domestic and European honour besides the Premier League – is set to retire later this year having moved to Galaxy last year after almost two decades at Anfield.
With a net worth of circa $60 million and almost sacrosanct career in the Premier League, the Englishman has once again demonstrated the kind of attitude needed to succeed and maintain performance at the highest level.
The young England squad of Euro 2016 should take note as they look ahead to the 2020 World Cup and a shot at redemption following the embarrassing performances in France this summer.
